Heads Up! Making Citizenship, History, and Government Come Alive in Your Classroom - Abilene - 4/5/2

Come join us for a packed day designed to help get your students’ heads off their desks and engaged in meaningful, thought provoking lessons correlated to the social studies TEKS. During the course of the day, university students, alternative certification, and first year teachers wanting to teach elementary, middle, and high school students will work with teacher consultants to demonstrate how to implement these lessons into the curriculum. Additionally, the lead LRE Constitutional scholar, Jerry Perry will provide content support on selected topics.

The day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be catered on site. Participants will walk away with numerous resources including a flash drive of the entire curriculum presented during the workshop.

The workshop is FREE to those who register for the event and is sponsored by the Hatton W. Sumners Foundation and the State Bar of Texas. Registration is limited so register today!
