Teachers are introduced to a social studies curriculum, which emphasizes critical thinking, cooperative learning, and problem solving. Participants will be shown how to integrate the We the People. . . program from the Center for Civic Education into their existing curriculum. Unique to this workshop is the culminating activity, which will enable participants to conduct a congressional hearing in their own classroom. Teachers will receive a copy of the student book and workshop participants are eligible to receive a class set of books for their school. (Limit one set per school)
