2010 ANNUAL LAW-RELATED EDUCATION CONFERENCE

The People’s House: Historic and Modern Perspectives of the Legislative Branch

Texas teachers (grades K-12), administrators, curriculum specialists, juvenile justice personnel, and community resource persons and law enforcement are invited to the 2010 Law-Related Education Conference at the Hilton Austin Airport, Austin.  The theme for this year’s conference is The People’s House: Historic and Modern Perspectives of the Legislative Branch.

Sessions will target elementary, middle and high school programs.  Other sessions will provide strategies for increasing critical thinking skills relevant to the TEKS standards and the TAKS test.  Strategies will include extensions for gifted/talented and advanced placement classes. 

The State Board for Educator Certification has approved all Law-Related Education workshops for professional development credit. Gifted and Talented Credit will apply to selected sessions.

Hotel accommodations have been blocked for LRE Conference participants at the Hilton Austin Airport, 9515 Hotel Drive at the rate of $139.00 single/$149.00 double/$159.00 triple occupancy. All LRE Conference participants will be responsible for cost of travel and hotel. Please call hotel directly at 512/385-6767.
