Costa Rica - Texas - New Mexico Civitas Partnership
Civitas Latin America is funded by a grant from the US Department of Education under the Education for Democracy Act approved by the US Congress. The program is implemented in cooperation with the US Department of State. It is administered by the Center with the assistance of the Civitas Latin America Consortium Coordinators Council, composed of representatives of participating organizations.
Throughout the years of the partnership between Texas, New Mexico and Costa Rica, the common thread that has joined these three entities together is developing programs which benefit students and teachers. These programs not only replicate successful strategies, but result in participants leaving the event or meeting with a feeling that what they are attempting will result in helping prepare successful citizens regardless of country. The partnership is currently working on:
We the People...Project Citizen
